Did you know there are three OGA Gaffling 4.1 dinghies which may be hired by East Coast Gaffers? The cover photo shows six OGA Gafflings racing in the 2025 Championships at Ullswater. This year, the Championships will be on Derwent Reservoir, County Durham, 28 – 31 August, 2026. Why not hire one before then to try out this lovely little boat? Two Gafflings were built by teams of East Coast OGA members led by Pete Thomas ‘Suffling’ and Pete ‘the knife’ Elliston ‘Essling’. The other has been purchased for use on the East Coast. All three boats are available for hire. The process for hire is quite painless, fill in a form, pay the fee (starting at only £10 for a day) and arrange collection at a convenient location. The dinghy has a trailer, so you’ll just need to bring a numberplate for the lightboard.
