The East Coast OGA Committee pulled out all the stops this summer to organise the 60th Anniversary Celebrations on the River Orwell. This four-day event welcomed the boats who had undertaken the Round Britain Cruise, departing Ramsgate in April. Many other party participants arrived from north, south, east and west to help celebrate with a grand ‘gathering of gaffers’.
We were pleased to find the local and national Press took up the story. There were interviews on BBC Radio Suffolk, an article in the Ipswich Star as well as coverage in Chelsea Magazines prestigious ‘Classic Yachts’ special edition (sold worldwide), Practical Boat Owner and Watercraft Magazine. Rik Homan’s ‘Jan Blank’ arrived from the Netherlands and featured on the cover of Watercraft, issue no.162.
