John Krejsa, a retired member of the East Coast OGA committee, passed away on 5 October 2018. John had been making the best of life after being diagnosed with motor neurone disease. For many years he played a role in the Classic Boat Festivals at Shotley with his gaffer ‘Stadats’. More recently he had restored the lovely Albert Strange yacht ‘Mist’ which he saw launched and sailing only very recently.
The picture shows John with the Old Harry Trophy which he won five times or more in ‘Stadats’ for being last vessel home within the time limit in the annual East Coast Race.
His funeral took place on 25 October, 2018 in Melton Church.
